Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department

As Chief of Edgewood Fire Department I would like to thank you for visiting our website! My name is Charlie Norris and I am in my second year as chief here at EVFD. We at Edgewood hold ourselves to a higher standard in that we are very proud to be firefighters and even more proud of being members of EVFD and don't want to bring any negative attention to the department, Abbeville County, or ourselves as individuals.

We have a great group of members at Edgewood Fire Dept. Every member is very special to the department and is greatly appreciated, for all their hard work and dedication to the fire service. I as chief have a great group of officers as well, without which my job as chief would be a lot harder than it is! My Assistant Chief Brian Barnes, Captain David Wilkie, 1st Lt./C6 Michael Bull, and 2nd Lt. Del Fellows. Without these guys I could not keep EVFD up and running.

In my opinion, there is NO job like firefighting! But you can't just go through the motions. You have to be in whole heartedly. If you are thinking about becoming a firefighter, I urge you to talk to anyone you know that is already a firefighter ask them any questions you have. If you are interested in becoming a firefighter, we invite you to join us for a meeting on the first and third Tuesday nights of every month.
