Recruit Requirements
1. All recruits must be 16 years of age or older. Ages 16-18 to may participate in the department Explorer Program.
2. Submit a formal application to become a member of the department.
3. Complete the South Carolina Registration Act and Request for Criminal Record Review Form.
4. A majority vote of active members is required to obtain full active membership.
5. All members shall start as a probationary member for a period of 6 months with extensions up to 12 months before obtaining full membership.
6. Shall take instructions from the Fire Chief or any Officer of the department.
7. Required to attend all meetings, trainings, fire calls, or special called meetings with exceptions by Fire Chief or other Officers only. Meetings are held the 1 and 3 Tuesday of every month.
8. All recruits will be required to successfully complete a Rookie Class (1152) within one year of being accepted.
